Please read carefully before your visit.

By entering the Tisza Castle in Geszt, you agree to the rules and regulations.

The castle, the works of art in it, the castle park and other facilities are the property of the Hungarian State. Please be careful and help us preserve our invaluable heritage.

There are a number of surveillance cameras on the premises, and there is a 24/7 manned security service.

To have a safe visit, please observe the following rules:

  • To visit the exhibition spaces and to use our services, you need a ticket, which will be validated by a staff member before you enter the exhibition space. You can enter the exhibition once – during opening hours – with a ticket purchased on the same day. Please keep your ticket until the end of your visit.
  • Tickets cannot be refunded or replaced with another type of ticket. If your ticket is lost, destroyed or damaged, we cannot provide a new one.
  • You visit the exhibition space, the temporary exhibitions, the castle garden and the events at your own risk.
  • When purchasing a discounted ticket, please present your relevant document at the ticket office. Without a valid document, you cannot purchase a discounted ticket.
  • The price of guided tours for individuals and groups must be paid in advance.
  • The use of the cloakroom is obligatory for the safety of the works of art. You must not bring packages, backpacks, umbrellas, raincoats and coats you have taken off into the exhibition space. You can leave these in the cloakroom, which is free of charge. The museum is not responsible for any valuables left in the cloakroom.
  • To protect the works of art and the visitors, there is a video surveillance system on the premises, which is compliant with the current legislation on data protection and the data policy of the institution. The exhibition spaces and the works of art are protected by museum guards and security guards.
  • You may not enter the premises of the castle when under the influence of alcohol or other substances or when not wearing proper attire, even if you have a valid ticket.
  • You are not allowed to bring to the premises of the castle weapons, objects that look like weapons, pointed or edged objects or any object or material that poses a threat to the life, physical integrity or health of persons or to the works of art. (If it is required for your health, you are allowed to take some liquid with you, but no more than one 0.5 l-bottle.)
  • On the premises of the castle, you are not allowed to eat in the exhibition spaces, and in the café you may only consume the food and drinks you bought there.
  • In the exhibition space, you are not allowed to sit on the windowsill or use the stairs in a manner other than intended.
  • In the castle park, you can only park your vehicle in the designated parking area.
  • TAKING PHOTOS AND VIDEOS: Photos taken in the castle and in any part of the castle park may only be used for private, non-commercial purposes. (Bridal photoshoots require prior reservation and involve a fee.) Please make sure you do not disturb other visitors when taking photos.
  • MOBILE PHONES: Please be considerate. Turn down the volume on your phone while on the castle premises and do not disturb other visitors by talking loudly. You are only allowed to talk or listen to music on your phone with a headset, not on speaker.
  • GROUPS OF VISITORS: Guided tours are only available from our qualified guides. The leaders of the groups, or the accompanying teachers or parents are responsible for their group to observe the rules and regulations.
  • CLOSING: The ticket office closes 60 minutes before the museum is closed. Please check the opening hours when buying a ticket.
  • SMOKING: Smoking is prohibited in the castle, the castle park and all the buildings on the premises. E-cigarettes are also prohibited.
  • CASTLE GARDEN AND CASTLE YARD: You are not allowed to climb the buildings, sculptures, structures and works of art in the castle garden.
  • In the event of an incident (natural disaster, fire, bomb threat, etc.) you must follow the instructions of the staff of the Tisza Castle and leave the premises as soon as possible through the designated escape routes.
  • The castle is not liable for lost items.

NÖF NKft., which operates the Tisza Castle, reserves the right to deny those infringing the above regulations the opportunity to visit the facility. Visitors who do not comply with the rules and regulations are warned and may be banned from the castle premises temporarily or permanently. When the infringement of rules and regulations results in damage, the person causing the damage will be held liable.
